Reece Chowdhry named in ‘100 Bame leaders influencing the tech sector’ by Financial Times

Financial Times & Inclusive Boards tech leaders list

In November, Reece was named amongst the ‘Top 100 BAME leaders in Tech’ by the Financial Times and Inclusive Boards.

The top 10 are outlined below. Reshma Sohoni of Seedcamp took the number one spot, the only VC to appear in the top 10.

Only 11 of the Top 100 selected were Venture Capital investors, and Reece was nominated alongside funds such as Balderton Capital, Passion Capital, Connect Ventures, Merian Ventures and Seedcamp. RLC Ventures was the only EIS and SEIS fund to be featured.

Reece Chowdhry said “I was delighted to have been named amongst so many influencers in the UK Technology sector. Progress within the Venture Capital (VC) ecosystem has been slow to date when it comes to diversity and inclusion. Only 25% of boards in the UK have ethnic minority representation, and this is something that needs to change. We hope that the work being done by so many influential and innovative Bame leaders continues to empower people throughout the UK, Europe and beyond.”

In addition to the names mentioned above, the list featured senior leaders from Facebook, LinkedIn, IBM, Twitter and financial services firm EY.

The Judges were Amy French, head of ecosystem development, Level 39; Leyla Boulton, editor, Special Reports, FT; Madhumita Murgia, European technology correspondent, FT, and Samuel Kasumu, managing director, Inclusive Boards.
